5 Mancations for the Competitor – February

Shake off those post holiday blues by committing to one of these epic mancation ideas for February.  If you want to make sure you don’t repeat the slothful disaster you are right now, keep them in mind for 2014.

Tough Mudder SoCal & Tough Mudder Arizona

Tough Mudder is growing by leaps and bounds for a reason.  They put together great events, with challenging courses, in great locations.  Whether you are a Southwestern local or a snowbird looking for some sun, a January mancation to either Southern California (Temecula, outside of San Diego) or Phoenix, AZ with the guys would make an epic weekend away.  Even with some morning activity, there will be plenty of time to experience the nightlife these great cities have to offer.

Patagonian Expedition Race

For the adventure racer, check out this epic mancation through one of the most wild and beautiful places on Earth.

Racers receive minimal assistance as they traverse through the pristine southern Patagonia by means of trekking, climbing and related rope work, kayaking, mountain biking, and backcountry navigation. They often cover hundreds of kilometers without seeing a soul.

American Birkebeiner

The Birkie is an epic mancation for the winter competitor.  This cross country ski race draws competitors from all over the world. However, you must qualify for this event.

US Open of Snowboarding – Vail, CO

Snowboarding has certainly come a long way in the past two decades, but technically the Open is still an event where anyone can show up an ride with the pros.  Of course, you might want to use this tidbit of info to make sure you stay away from Vail this weekend to avoid the crowds and take your snowboarding mancation elsewhere.  Follow the pow my friends.
